Oh, the irony!

Been working and tweaking on my tourney list for Saturday. And the irony is high.

For me a perfect army, if I could make it competitive, might have 2 or at most 3 characters; General, BSB, and if he had a chance of being effective, a magic user. The rest would be spent on units, units, units.

Big blocks of infantry. Couple units of Knights.

And I find that to deal with everything I expect to need to deal with...nasty magic from a couple armies, nasty monsters from a couple armies, mass shooting from a couple armies, and an unfortunate number of weapons that nullify my good stuff, I find to build something I think will be effective...I need to max out my characters.

Which I don't want to do.

*sigh*

What to do, what to do...will it just be a long afternoon if I go all units? Looks like we might find out

" and if he had a chance of being effective, a magic user".
I don't think you have to even consider whether or not a single magic user (or even 2) would be effective... O.O
General (assuming engine of death h2h oriented) and BSB on the other hand, pretty much guaranteed to fulfill their roles ^^

yeah, but you know how I love magic. It just seldom works out for me,...though when it does...spectacular! Like the half unit of Chaos Warriors that disappeared to the infernal gateway...

I think I finalized my list. Not saying it was a lot of work...chaos Warriors in, out, half unit, full unit...3 20+ units of marauders in, out, in, out, in...Chaos Spawn in...in...in...out. 2 units of Knights. none. 1 of 10, 1 of 5, 2 of ten, none, in, out, in...grr.

Should be fun army to play, and I have no idea how effective it will be.

If you can tell me what that means I will gladly put up a productive( or maybe not) reply.

Found this while mindlessly surfing the Internet. Pretty funny in my opinion.

basically, it means I kept adjusting my list trying for the perfect balance; something that can deal with monster heavy or war machine heavy lists while still being weak enough that goblin/ogre type armies will still feel like they were competitive. Trying to fit in basic units but still have stuff I want to play.

As usual, my goal is ultimately 3 draws but more realistically, one win, one loss, one draw, hopefully none by massacre.
