Steadfast: We have been playing it wrong

At least, I have been playing it wrong. I have been playing it like the old Stubborn rule. I.e. You may test on the UNIT'S unmodified leadership. This is not the Steadfast rule.

The Steadfast (and by extension the NEW Stubborn rule) says, "Steadfast units can always take Break tests on their unmodified Leadership (or the General's unmodified Leadership if the testing unit is in range of his Inspiring Presence special rule - see page 107). "

And just for completeness, the new Stubborn rule reads, "Stubborn units are always steadfast, whether or not they have more ranks than their enemy (see page 54 for details)."

Therefore a unit with Ld 6 which is steadfast and in range of its Ld 10 general would roll on an unmodified 10 when they lose the combat.

Rules Coment

Oops. Hopefully I am not the only one who has been doing this wrong.

Quick query:

Chaos Armor (4+ save) on Barded Steed with shield: what is close combat save?

1+? (4 for armor, 2+ due to mounted and barded, 1+ due to shield)

or

0+? (4+ for armor, 2+ for mounted/barded, 1+ for shield, 0+ for c.c. bonus)

Hint: p. 56, words in parentheses

Fleeing Flyers

From page 68 of the 7th edition rulebook:

Flyers always choose to fly when fleeing, and so the distance flyers flee is based on their flying move rather than their ground move. The normal flee distance for flyers is therefore 3D6" in common with all models whose move is more than 6".

Flyers can flee over interposing terrain and units, but if their move ends inside impassible terrain (including woods) or non-fleeing enemies, they are destroyed as normal.

So the odd sounding event that Darth described where the fleeing flyers went over the Bretonnian knights was in line with the rules.
